Anies Continue Transitional PSBB, Odd-Even Abolished

JAKARTA - The Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya decided not to implement an odd-even system. This is in line with the transitional Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) policy which was extended for two weeks.

"The system of restricting motor vehicles with odd-even (gage) remains abolished during the transitional PSBB period," said Director of the Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo to reporters, Sunday, October 25.

However, the removal of the odd-even system from 26 October to 8 November will also be analyzed and evaluated. Therefore, if changes from the DKI Provincial Government are related to the handling of COVID-19, then other policies can follow suit.

"During the implementation there will still be an evaluation," he said.

DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan previously decided to extend the Transitional Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) from October 26 to November 8. This policy was carried out as a precautionary measure against a spike in COVID-19 cases.

Anie said, the extension of the Transitional PSBB was due to no significant increase in cases. However, if there is a significant increase in cases, the implementation of this Transitional PSBB can be stopped.

"This means that if there is an alarming level of transmission, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government can stop all activities that have been opened during the PSBB Transition Period and re-implement the tightening," Anies said in an official statement, Jakarta, Sunday, October 25.
