A 26-year-old Youth In Serang Apes Sells Methamphetamine To The Police Disguised As A Drug User

SERANG - A methamphetamine dealer with the initials MA (26) was arrested by members of the Narcotics Unit of the Serang Police in Ciajeng Village, Cijeruk Village, Kibin District, Serang Regency.

From the suspect, a resident of Bandar Lampung City, the Opsnal Team confiscated evidence of three packages of methamphetamine along with electronic scales.

"The suspect was secured by the side of the road in Kibin Subdistrict, Serang Regency, on Friday June 10 at around 11.00 WIB," said Head of the Narcotics Research Unit Iptu Michael K Tanday to reporters, Sunday, June 12.

Michael explained that the arrest of the methamphetamine dealer was based on reports from the public that the Supreme Court suspect who lived in a rented house was suspected of carrying out illicit drug business.

Armed with this information, the Narcotics Opsnal team led by Ipda Jonathan Sirait immediately investigated the information.

Pretending to be a drug user, officers then contacted the suspect to transact methamphetamine.

After the time and place were determined, the Opsnal Team immediately moved to the location specified by the suspect.

"After meeting with the alleged perpetrator, the undercover officer immediately asked for the item in the form of methamphetamine and when the perpetrator showed the methamphetamine, the officer immediately arrested the suspect," said Michael.

During a search, two other packages of methamphetamine were found from his trouser pocket.

The officers also secured the cellphone used by the MA suspect in drug dealing.

"Along with the evidence, the suspect was taken to the Serang Police Headquarters for examination and development," he said.

During the examination, the Supreme Court admitted that he had only purchased methamphetamine twice from a dealer who claimed to be a resident of Balaraja, Tangerang Regency. The suspect was forced to do business because he did not have a job to make ends meet.

"The suspect admitted that he had bought methamphetamine twice from people who claimed to be residents of Balaraja, Tangerang. The motive was because they did not work and were pressed for economic needs," explained Michael.

For his actions, the suspect in the Supreme Court was charged with Article 114 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 112 paragraph (1) of RI Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics with a minimum penalty of 5 years in prison.
