Babiambo, Nasi Padang Babi In Kelapa Gading, Jakut Turns Out To Be From 2020, An Idea For Young People In The Midst Of A Pandemic

JAKARTA - Sergio, the owner of the Babiambo business, told why he made the Nasi Padang menu made from pork. The young man said, around the beginning of the 2020 pandemic he had started the business. Due to the pandemic, Sergio admits that he is trying to find additional income from new business opportunities. Until finally he opened an online shop.

"But it only lasted about 3 months, more or less as I remember it finally closed. At that time the menu was like Padang cuisine but made from pork," said Sergio at the Kelapa Gading Police, Friday, June 10.

Sergio made sure, he only sells online and not restaurants. Sales via Grabfood and Gofood.

Regarding the pork menu as a menu, Segio admitted that it was an innovation that he considered to have a selling point.

"Trying innovation without having the aim of offending certain tribes, which is very unfortunate. At that time we only thought this was innovation and this was an opportunity worth trying," he admits.

Sergio did the business of selling food made from pork in 2020. His business did not last long until finally closed operations.

"Only about three months in 2020," he said.

Sergio also apologized for causing a commotion on social media.

"I personally represent the previous brand called Babiambo which has been operating for several months, I want to apologize profusely for my friends or relatives who may feel offended," he said.

Previously reported, Kelapa Gading Police Chief Kompol Vokky Sagala said his party was following up on reports that were viral on social media regarding home made restaurants selling Padang online but made from pork.

After an investigation into the reported house, it turned out that the police found that the house was a residential house.

"So it's not a restaurant or a shop, but a residential house. When we arrived, it was no longer operating, it was indeed a residential house, not a place of business," Kompol Vokky told VOI at the Kelapa Gading Police Headquarters, Friday, June 10, evening.
