Grandpa Viral In Medan Forcibly Deprived Of Money, Perpetrator Arrested By Police

MEDAN - After going viral, the young man who took money from Agus Salim's grandfather on Jalan KL Yos Sudarso, Medan City, was arrested by the police. The perpetrator and his partner took money from the grandfather who was walking when it was still light.

From the video circulating, the Medan Labuhan Police Criminal Investigation Unit team conducted an investigation and hunted down the perpetrators. The perpetrator with the initials DH (26) was arrested.

Belawan Harbor Police Chief, AKBP Faisal Rahmad Husein Simatupang said the suspect DH was arrested in the Simpang Kantor area, Medan, Wednesday 1 June.

"From the results of the investigation, information was obtained where the suspect DH was in the vicinity of Simpang Kantor, Martubung Village. Based on this information, the suspect was immediately chased and arrested," said AKBP Faisal, Friday, June 10.

AKBP Faisal said that his party was still hunting for a perpetrator with the initials JS who fled.

When interrogated by the police, DH admitted that he had stolen the victim's money.

"The suspect, DH, admitted that he committed a robbery with his colleague JS, taking the victim's money of Rp. 54 thousand," said Faisal.

"Currently, DH is still under further investigation to complete his case file. JS is still being pursued by the Criminal Investigation Unit and the Medan Labuhan Police Criminal Investigation Unit," said Faisal.
