Motorcycle Gang In Gambir, Central Jakarta Makes A Trouble, One Resident Gets Stabbed With A Celurit

JAKARTA - The Gambir Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit is still pursuing a motorcycle gang that attacked residents of Kebon Kelapa, Gambir, Central Jakarta.

As a result of the attack, one resident was injured by a sharp weapon and is still undergoing treatment at the Tarakan Hospital. The incident occurred on Saturday, June 4, yesterday.

Gambir Metro Police Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, Kompol Andhika Aris Prasetya, said that based on CCTV footage, there were around 20 motorbikes.

"We are still identifying the perpetrators. We are still hunting, we are still chasing, we are still investigating," said Kanit when contacted by reporters, Wednesday, June 8.

As a result of the attack, the victim was stabbed with a sharp weapon, believed to be a scythe.

"Yes, one person had a stab wound, he is still being treated at the Tarakan Hospital. The victim was a resident there, the back wound," he said.

Kanit explained, the incident occurred on Saturday, June 4 at around 05.30 WIB. A convoy of motorcycle convoys of the perpetrators passed and slashed residents who were at the location.

"At that time, the victim was playing on his cellphone with his friends. At half past six (morning), a mob of motorbikes came blaring and honking their horns," he said.

Seeing the arrival of a group of unknown people, the residents panicked and fled through one of the small alleys around the location.

"(Residents) panicked, they ran into the alley. Because the alley was small, the entrance was packed together. It was the latter who got stabbed," he said.

"We still suspect (the perpetrator used) a sickle because it's not even visible on CCTV. We suspect it's a sickle," he said briefly.
