BEKASI - Officers from the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Setu Sector Police, Bekasi Regency arrested three of the four perpetrators of the burglary of a box driver named Marjaya on Jalan MT Haryono, Bekasi Regency a few days ago.

The Head of Setu Police, Adjunct Commissioner Sugeng Haryanto, said the three perpetrators who had been arrested had the initials SH (16), A (17) and MR (23).

"The two perpetrators SH and A are still under, while MR is an adult. Another person with the initial T is still being chased by officers," said Sugeng when revealing the case at the Setu Police Headquarters, Bekasi Regency, Wednesday, June 8.

Sugeng explained that the violent theft began when the victim was sleeping in the box car he was driving at 02.30 WIB.

"The incident happened right at the edge of the gas station. The victim was sleeping and suddenly four perpetrators came by on two motorbikes," he added.

The four perpetrators forced the victim to get out of the box car and one of the perpetrators, MR, threatened while brandishing a sharp weapon in the form of a sickle at the victim.

The perpetrators asked the victim to hand over his mobile phone and Rp. 500 thousand in his wallet. The victim was forced to hand over his belongings because the streets were deserted and there were no residents to help.

After the victim handed over his property, the MR perpetrator continued to injure the victim by slashing a sickle into the victim's left hand.

"Even though the goods have been given, the perpetrators did intend to violently injure the victim by slashing the driver. The victim defended himself, fending off wounds to his hands with seven stitches," he said.

The perpetrators then fled while the victim got back into the car and tried to chase the perpetrator even though he was injured.

In the middle of the trip, the motorbike driven by SH fell right when a police officer was on patrol. The police then took him into custody. While A, MR, and T managed to escape.

"After we dug up information, we detected the whereabouts of two other perpetrators and secured them. Meanwhile, we are still searching for T," said Sugeng.

Officers secured evidence in the form of sickles, cell phones, motorbikes of the perpetrators, and valuables belonging to the victims. The perpetrators are subject to Article 365 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code on Violent Theft with a maximum penalty of 12 years in prison.
