The Integration Fee Of Rp. 10 Thousand Makes The DKI Transportation Agency Believe That Residents Want To Leave Their Private Vehicles

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) hopes that the tariff integration in the capital can encourage more people to switch from private vehicles to public transportation.

"We express our gratitude and appreciation to Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD who has approved the proposed integration fare to Rp. 10,000 for a three-hour trip. This is a joint effort to provide excellent service to the community and hopefully in the future more and more people will use public transportation, because It's getting more comfortable and the rates are affordable," said Head of Jakarta Transportation Agency Syafrin Liputo in Jakarta, Wednesday, June 8, quoted from Antara.

Syafrin said that the proposed tariff integration is inseparable from the commitment of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to provide integrated transportation to facilitate the mobility of citizens and encourage sustainable transportation by not only providing infrastructure that connects between modes, but also transportation integration tariffs between TransJakarta buses, Jakarta LRT and MRT Jakarta.

However, Syafrin said that it still takes time to implement it because the tariff will be ratified first through the Plenary Session of the DKI Jakarta DPRD and set forth in the Governor's Decree.

"Later on, socialization will also be carried out in advance on the application of this transportation integration tariff. We hope that everything will run smoothly and more people will switch to public transportation, so that air quality in Jakarta can also be maintained," he said.

Previously, the DKI Jakarta Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) agreed on a tariff package for the integration of transportation modes of Rp. 10 thousand, however, Commission B for the economy wanted a full subsidy for 15 community groups.

Each of them are civil servants and retired civil servants of DKI Jakarta, contract workers who work in DKI Jakarta, recipients of the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) and Jakarta Superior Student Card (KJMU), certain private employees, residents of flats, residents with Thousand Islands ID cards and raskin recipients.

Then members of the TNI and Polri, veterans, people with disabilities, the elderly, house of worship workers, PAUD teachers, Jumantik and dasa wisma and the family welfare empowerment empowerment team (PKK).

The chairman of Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Ismail, hopes that the determination of this integrated tariff package can increase public interest in switching from private transportation to public transportation.

Commission B, continued Ismail, will continue to monitor the progress of implementing the integrated tariff package every six months to find out how effective and profitable it is for public transportation users.

"We will evaluate it in six months, from there we will be able to review and produce new recommendations, so that the implementation of this package can really be felt by the community," he said.
