Ali Fanser Marsasabessy Wants Justin's Beating Case To Be Solved With Restorative Justice, Polda Metro: We Focus On Legal Facts

JAKARTA - The Jakarta Metro Police stated that they are still processing the case of the alleged beating of the son of a member of the F-PDIP DPR, Justin Frederick according to the law.

The statement was in response to Ali Fanser Marasabessy's request to settle the case on the principle of restorative justice.

"We focus on the existing legal facts based on reports rather than victims," said the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes E. Zulpan to reporters, Tuesday, June 7.

Ali Fanser Marasabessy is the father of Faisal Marasabessy, a suspect in the beating case on the edge of the inner toll road in the city of Gatot Subroto, South Jakarta.

Zulpan also mentioned restorative justice efforts. According to him, the settlement of cases in this way must be reached by agreement between the complainant and the reported party.

However, based on the information obtained, Justin's parents want the case to be prosecuted.

"He said that he wanted fair law enforcement by Polda Metro Jaya and he entrusted the Polda Metro to enforce such laws," said Zulpan.

In addition, Zulpan emphasized that in this matter the police are only carrying out their duties as law enforcers. The legal process according to the rules has also been carried out until it leads to the determination of the suspect.

"Polda Metro Jaya is to respond quickly, then examine all witnesses to this day one who has been named a suspect," said Zulpan

Previously, the Secretary General of the DPP Pemuda Pejuang Bravo 5 Ahmad Zazali asked that the restorative justice route be put forward in the settlement of the beating case that made Faisal Marasabessy a suspect.

"That taking into account the incident above, and as a form of support for the Bravo Lima Warrior Youth for efforts to bring Pancasila to life through the resolution of restorative justice disputes, we hope that this approach will be put forward in this case," he said.

For information, in the case of beating Justin Frederick, the police named Faisal Marasabessy as a suspect.

This case began with the arrogant action of Faisal Marasabessy while driving on the inner toll road section of the city of Gatot Subroto, South Jakarta.
