Arif Nurul Imam Says KIB Gathering Has An Impact On The Surge In Political Bargaining Power Of Its Members

JAKARTA – The formation of the United Indonesia Coalition is a strategic step taken by the Golkar Party, PAN and PPP. Director of IndoStrategi Research and Consulting Arif Nurul Imam also assessed that the National Gathering of the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) was an effort to increase political bargaining position to face the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).

"Apart from being a consolidation event, we can read the National Gathering of the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) as a means of increasing the bargaining power of the KIB political axis," said Arif Nurul Imam in Kulon Progo Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region, when contacted by Antara, Sunday, June 5.

According to him, this political axis was formed, because it does not yet have a pair of candidates to be carried in the 2024 Presidential Election. This, he said, will certainly make this coalition attractive for potential figures to run in the 2024 presidential election.

"Therefore, the friendship will have an impact on increasing political bargaining power in front of external parties," he said.

According to Arif, the increase in political bargaining power will certainly benefit the three parties, namely Golkar, PAN, and PPP.

"If they individually will only be glanced at one eye, but if they join and have fulfilled the rules of carrying a candidate pair in the 2024 presidential election, then their political bargaining power will soar," he said.

Previously, the United Indonesia Coalition (KB) was formed after the three general chairmen of these political parties, namely the General Chair of the Golkar Party DPP Airlangga Hartarto, the General Chair of the PPP DPP Suharso Monoarfa, and the General Chair of the PAN DPP Zulkifli Hasan agreed to form the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB).

The coalition, he explained, is determined to oversee the success of President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) Development Program until 2024.

The United Indonesia Coalition, he added, is pushing for the 2024 General Election (Election) to be attended by at least three pairs of presidential candidates (candidates).
