Joint Officers Fight Land Fires In Kampar

KOMPAR - Joint officers from the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Kampar Regency, Riau Province, managed to extinguish fires on oil palm and rubber land in an area of approximately three hectares in Koto Bangun Village, Salo District, Kampar Regency.

The Head of BPBD of Kampar Regency through the Pusdalops PB Quick Response Team Officer, Candra, said that information on the forest and land fire incident was received on Thursday (2/5) at 18.55 WIB. The fire could only be extinguished in the early hours of Friday.

The location of the fire and water sources was very far away, and even difficult to reach by the team that was going to the location at that time.

To anticipate the spread of the fire, the TRC Task Force together with the joint Task Force assisted by the community to seal the area and extinguish the fire at the scene even though it takes time.

Also participating in the blackout process were the Head of KL, Head of Logistics and TRC Task Force for Pusdalops-PB BPBD together with Pol PP Kampar, Bhabinkamtibmas, Bhabinsa, Fire and Rescue Service, Village Apparatus and the surrounding community.

After the fire was extinguished, on Friday morning, the team immediately checked the location, but the cause of the fire is still under further investigation.

Candra also appealed to the public not to clean up and expand the land by burning because the impact was quite large and violated the laws and regulations which resulted in the perpetrator being punished and subject to a large fine.
