JAKARTA - The former mayor of Yogyakarta, Haryadi Suyuti, has been named a suspect after undergoing an examination due to being entangled in a hand arrest operation (OTT) carried out by the KPK. Haryadi wears an orange vest and handcuffs.

According to VOI monitoring, Haryadi and three parties who have been named as suspects stepped down from the investigation room at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Friday, June 3. They have been questioned since the silent operation was held on Thursday, June 2 yesterday.

Haryadi was seen wearing a long-sleeved shirt. He occasionally lowers his head as he walks into the press conference room to be announced as a suspect and appears to be carrying a black bag.

Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Alexander Marwata said that the suspect's determination was related to the Building Permit to build the Royal Kedaton Apartment in the Malioboro area, Yogyakarta City. Haryadi allegedly received a sum of money to smooth this permit.

"It is suspected that there was a gradual handover with a value of Rp. 50 million for HS," said Alexander Marwata at a press conference at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, June 3.

Not only that, Haryadi is also suspected of receiving bribes for licensing from other private parties. However, the KPK will carry out further investigations.

Haryadi and the three suspects were detained for the first 20 days until June 22. They are being held in different detention houses.

As a result of his actions, Haryadi as a bribe recipient was suspected of violating Article 12 letter a or Article 12 letter b or Article 11 of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption Crimes Jo Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 of the Criminal Code.
