Bareskrim Will Determine The Fire Suspect Of The AGO This Week

JAKARTA - Bareskrim Polri will conduct a case title to determine the suspect in the building fire at the Attorney General's Office (AGO). The case title is scheduled for October 23.

"There will be a separate title (to determine the suspect) internally, which is planned for Friday morning," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono, to reporters, Wednesday, October 21.

According to Awi, the investigators from the Directorate of General Crimes will conduct an expose with the investigating prosecutor about the fire at the Attorney General's Office (AGO) building. This activity was carried out to facilitate the investigation process.

"This afternoon the plan is to expose the investigators in front of the investigating prosecutor at the AGO," said Awi.

The expose also aims to allow investigators to receive input from the research prosecutor regarding formal and material requirements. Because, it is possible that there will be developments in the case file.

"Later, after the files are finished, they are submitted to the prosecutor and he will also carry out the development of the files," he said.

Previously, the Director of the General Crime Directorate (Dittipidum) of the National Police Brigadier General Ferdy Sambo said that in the near future he would determine the suspect in the fire case of the Attorney General's Office (AGO) building. Determination of the suspect will be decided through the results of the case title.

"Later, maybe in the near future we will appoint a suspect," Ferdy told reporters, Monday, October 12.

However, Ferdy has not explained in detail the timing of the case to determine the suspect. Polri continues to gather information and instructions from the examination of witnesses and experts.

"We will definitely start from the expert later, because he knows what causes open flames," he said.

So far, around hundreds of witnesses and experts have been questioned. However, the mastermind behind the AGO building fire that occurred on August 22 has not yet been revealed.
