In His Last Months In Office, Anies Is Still Convinced That Bicycle Lanes In DKI Can Reach 500 Kilometers

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan believes that the bicycle lanes in the Capital City will gradually reach 500 kilometers to support efforts to reduce carbon emissions.

"It is hoped that there will be 500 kilometers of bicycle lanes in Jakarta," said Anies at Lapangan Banteng, Central Jakarta, Friday, June 3.

The DKI Provincial Government is targeting 250 kilometers of bicycle lanes to be built.

Anies continued that although the construction of bicycle lanes had been halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with a target of 250 kilometers this year, he is confident that 500 kilometers of bicycle lanes can be built.

"This year it was 250 kilometers, it used to be stopped because of the pandemic yesterday but we hope it (500 kilometers) will be completed. If it's 250 kilometers, God willing, it will be achieved quickly," said Anies as quoted from Antara.

Previously, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government planned to add bicycle lanes at 20 locations in Jakarta along 195.6 kilometers during 2022.

Head of the DKI Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, estimates that the budget will reach Rp. 119 billion.

"The budget estimate starts from planning, supervision, resource persons, to the construction of bicycle lanes," said Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, in Jakarta, Wednesday yesterday.

Syafrin added that the plan to add bicycle lanes in 2022 is spread across 20 road segments, namely:

1. Prof Dr Satrio along 5.3 km2. IN Panjaitan-Yos Sudarso: 22.1 km3. Gambir-Cikini-Rasuna: 13.2 km4. Tugu Tani-Simpang Senen: 2.1 km5. Simpang Senen-Salemba Raya: 4.8 km6. Otto Iskandar Dinata: 4.4 km7. MT Haryono-Palmerah: 15.4 km8. Dr Sahardjo-Dr Supomo: 8.4 km9. Kebayoran Baru Extension: 8.7 km10. Pattimura-Iskandarsyah Raya: 3.7 km11. Galunggung Pejompongan: 10.6 km12. Pioneer of Independence-Simpang Senen: 25.5 km13. S Parman: 8.5 km14. Juanda-Pecenongan: 8.5 km15. Suryopranoto-Pos: 5.8 km16. Rasuna-Ragunan Intersection: 12.1 km17. I Gusti Ngurah Rai: 12.8 km18. Dewi Sartika: 9.4 km19. KH Mas Mansyur: 8.7 km20. Suryopranoto-Post: 5.6 km
