Several Yogya City Government Officials Also Arrested When KPK Holds OTT For Haryadi Suyuti

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said it had also arrested a number of parties during a hand arrest operation (OTT) that ensnared former Yogyakarta Mayor Haryadi Suyuti on Thursday, June 2.

"It consists of private elements and several Yogyakarta City Government officials, including the Mayor for the 2017-2022 period," said Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Sector Ali Fikri in a written statement, Friday, June 3.

The total number of people detained in the silent operation reached nine people. It's just that Ali is not completely on the whole side.

He only said they caught OTT which was carried out in the Yogyakarta and Jakarta areas. All parties detained are still being interrogated by investigators.

"Currently, the parties are still being investigated at the KPK's Red and White Building in Jakarta," he said.

As previously reported, the KPK carried out an OTT and arrested Hariyadi Suyuti, who just finished his term of office on May 22. It is suspected that there has been bribery.

However, the anti-corruption commission has not yet detailed the chronology of the alleged bribery. However, Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, said that during the OTT, evidence was found in the form of documents and money in United States dollar denominations, the amount of which was still being counted.

Currently, the KPK has 1x24 hours to determine the legal status of the parties caught in the OTT. They will later announce the chronology and who the suspects are through a press conference.
