JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the Golkar Party DPP Ahmad Doli Kurnia responded to the move of the Democrat Party politician, Ilham Arief Sirajuddin (IAS) to the banyan party.

According to him, Golkar is very open to the return of IAS to strengthen the political parties it has visited.

"Mr. IAS is indeed a genuine Golkar cadre. He was once the chairman of the Golkar DPD in South Sulawesi. Just because the political dynamics at that time were different, his development was not in accordance with the principles of Pak IAS, then he moved. For us, especially since he was once a Golkar cadre, he wants to return and strengthen Golkar, yes, we openly accept it," said Doli at the DPR Building, Monday, May 30.

Doli also hopes that IAS will bring the carriage back to the party, which is now chaired by Airlangga Hartarto.

"We hope that Pak Ilham will also have a carriage that will come back to Golkar. Not only Pak Ilham, but also his car," he hoped.

Because, said Doli, when he moved to the Democratic Party, IAS brought several confidants. Therefore, he hopes that IAS will bring back Golkar Party cadres who had previously moved to parties bearing mercy.

"We hope that as many as possible, anyone, especially since he was in Golkar, wants to rebuild and grow the Golkar Party, we are very happy," said Doli.

Nevertheless, the Deputy Chairman of Commission II of the DPR believes that the transfer of IAS from Democrats to Golkar will not disrupt relations between the two political parties (political parties). So that the relationship between the two political parties remains harmonious despite the issue of cadre displacement.

"So, I think the relationship between political parties, especially Golkar and Democrats will continue to run well and will not be damaged because there are cadres who move," concluded Doli.

Previously, Ilham Arief Sirajuddin (IAS) revealed his reason for leaving the Democratic Party and joining Golkar because he wanted to find a place that was more respected.

"First, I need an organization where I and my ambitions to serve in a larger arena can be more respected," said IAS in a statement, Friday, May 27.

In addition, IAS also highlighted Ni'matullah who was chosen as the Democratic Chair of South Sulawesi even though he was only supported by eight DPC votes at the Musda, December 2021. Meanwhile, IAS, which won the Musda with 16 DPC votes, was not trusted by the DPP.

"Actually, I am like a warrior who is forced to swallow his own saliva. It is like fighting with a basket of water," he said.

Not only that, IAS also feels that his presence in the Democratic Party is no longer wanted by the Democratic DPP elite.

"I can't imagine having to remain in an organization where the top brass are at the center, I understand that they don't want me anymore. Especially after the decision to appoint (Ni'matullah), no reconciliation efforts have been seen at all levels," said IAS.
