JAKARTA - The Indonesian government continues to take concrete actions to strengthen climate change control policies and various forms of implementation.

Implementation steps are ensured to maintain the achievement of the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions in accordance with the national target.

Siti gave an example of the forward steps that Indonesia has taken, one of which is the net carbon sequestration target or net sink for the forestry and other land use (FoLU) sector to be achieved by 2030.

Indonesia FoLU Net Sink 2030 shows Indonesia's seriousness in overcoming various environmental problems, biodiversity and climate change.

"Various efforts have yielded results, among them Indonesia has succeeded in reducing deforestation rates to the lowest point in history, as well as suppressing forest and land fires at the lowest possible levels in the last two decades," explained Siti.

He also explained that there has been a permanent moratorium on granting permits for primary natural forest and peatlands in an area of 66 million hectares, restoration and improvement of peat water systems on 3.4 million hectares of land as well as regulatory arrangements, forest and land rehabilitation of 3.61 million hectares. , sustainable forest management and social forestry.
