MAKASSAR - The Head of Information for Kodam XIV/Hasanuddin, Infantry Colonel Rio Purwantoro, stated that his party would investigate the case of the beating of the non-commissioned officer of the village supervisory Kodim 1408/BS Makassar, Sergeant Chief R.

The victim was beaten by an unknown person on Jalan Inspeksi Kanal, Pampang, Panakkukang District, Makassar, South Sulawesi.

"It's true, the Babinsa Koramil 1408/02 is monitoring his area to ensure the security of his target area," said Purwantoro in a press release received in Makassar, Antara, Sunday, May 29.

The incident took place at around 04.14 WITA, Sunday, May 29 when R was carrying out monitoring duties in the area. While crossing Jalan Pampang, the victim was grazed by an unknown person riding a motorcycle so that they touched each other and made a loud noise.

The motorcyclist who grazed the victim's motorbike then sought the attention of the residents by shouting R as a thug so that the people around him ignited and then ganged up on him.

As a result of the beating, R was injured all over his body. Luckily, passersby saw the victim lying on the side of the road, and asked for help to quickly take him to the nearest hospital.

"At that time there was a misunderstanding while crossing on Jalan Pampang, there was an OTK who grazed his motorbike so something unwanted happened," he said.

This case was also investigated by the Intel Detachment of Kodam XIV/Hassanudin and the Military Police of Kodam XIV/Hasanuddin together with the Makassar Polrestabes team.

"We already know the characteristics and names of the perpetrators of the beating, and are currently investigating. This matter is currently under investigation to find out who the brains behind the provocation and the perpetrators of the beatings were,"
