Pick Up Car Of 5 People Flying Into The Sea After Crashing A Jeep On The Edge Of A Gorge

PADANG - A pickup truck with five passengers and a driver plunged into the sea in the Barameh River area, Lubuk Begalung, Padang, West Sumatra (West Sumatra) on Sunday at around 03.30 WIB after colliding with another vehicle.

In the incident that occurred on Jalan Raya Padang-Painan, the driver Agustinus (41) and his brother Suki Artulo (60) managed to survive after plunging into the sea, while the other five passengers are still being searched for by the Padang Basarnas.

"There has been a traffic accident between a pick-up truck and a feroza jeep, as a result of the accident the pick-up car plunged into a ravine," said Head of the Law Enforcement Unit of the Padang Police Traffic Unit, Ipda Arisman, in Padang, quoted by Antara, Sunday, May 29.

He said that for the temporary data of the two survivors, only the pick-up driver was injured.

Based on the information from the pick-up driver Agustinus, it was known that the car was carrying five passengers, including himself.

"Based on the information from the driver, the joint team from the relevant agencies is still looking for other passengers in the pick-up car," he explained.

The black pick-up car with the police number BA 8087 BY plunged into the sea with a height of about 10 meters, its condition was badly damaged and the glass broke.

Meanwhile, the Feroza jeep has been evacuated by the Padang Police Satlantas Gakkum Unit team from the scene.

Meanwhile, the pick-up car has been successfully lifted by a crane from the sea at around 06.19 WIB, to be evacuated from the scene.

The accident and the evacuation of the pickup had disrupted the smooth flow of traffic at the local location, which incidentally is a Sumatran highway.

Police officers seemed to regulate traffic at the location to ensure smooth flow, and enforce an open-close system.

Meanwhile, a team from the Padang Basarnas is still conducting searches in local waters to look for victims.
