SEMARANG - An unknown man robbed a Modern Store in Semarang on Friday, 27 May evening. When carrying out the action, the perpetrator carried a bottle filled with gasoline.

The gasoline was then poured into one of the employees while asking all employees to enter the warehouse. In the action, the perpetrators took away the money from the sale with a total of Rp. 9.6 million.

The Head of Central Java Police Humas Kombes Iqbal Alqudusy revealed that the robbery incident occurred on Friday, May 27 evening. According to him, the robbery incident began when three store employees were getting ready to close the shop at around 22:05 WIB.

"Then an unknown man came with a sharp weapon, a sickle and a bottle filled with gasoline," Iqbal said as quoted by Antara, Saturday, May 28.

After receiving the money from the robbery, the perpetrator then immediately left the scene.

The police immediately launched an investigation. Iqbal said that his party had asked for statements from witnesses.

The police also gathered information from closed circuit camera television (CCTV) footage at the scene.

"This case is handled by the Semarang Police," he said.
