JAKARTA - The Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya closed several roads around the National Monument (Monas). This closure was carried out to anticipate traffic jams caused by demonstrations against the Job Creation Act by the Indonesian Student Executive Board (BEM SI) and the labor union.

"It's starting to close at 22.00 WIB tonight," said Director of the Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo to VOI , Monday, October 19.

However, Sambodo said the road closure was not fully implemented. This is because the TransJakarta route can still be used by motorists.

"But the busway lane and 1 lane on an ordinary road can still be passed," he said.

Later, 500 members of the traffic unit will also be alerted at several points. The officer will regulate the traffic flow so that there is no accumulation of vehicles

For the traffic flow scheme, vehicles passing from Jalan Veteran Raya to Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara will align to Jalan Ir. H. Juanda.

Then, vehicles from Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara heading to Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur are directed to turn to Jalan Perwira.

For vehicles from Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur to Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Jalan Perwira is straightened. Next, the vehicle from the direction of the Horse Statue turned to the street and left towards Jalan Kebon Sirih.

Vehicles from Jalan Abdul Muis that will turn left to Jalan Budi Kem Mulia will be directed to stay on Jalan Abdul Muis.

While the vehicles from Jalan Ir. H. Juanda is not allowed to go to Jalan Majapahit, so he is crooked or diverted to the right.

Likewise, vehicles from Jalan Veteran Raya will be aligned to Jalan Ir. H. Juanda without being allowed to go to Monas.

Finally, vehicles from Jalan Abdul Muis that lead to Jalan Majapahit are turned left.
