The Attorney General's Office Immediately Submits CPO Corruption Case Files

JAKARTA - The Director of Investigation of the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Dirdik Jampidsus) the Attorney General's Office, Supardi, said that his party will immediately submit the first phase of the case file for alleged corruption in the provision of "crude palm oil" (CPO) export facilities in mid-June 2022.

"Hopefully, by the middle of next month (June) phase 1 will be completed," Supardi said at the Roundabout, Attorney General's Office, Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Friday, May 27.

Supardi said that the examination of the witnesses was still ongoing, today (Friday) there are still several witnesses in the CPO case being questioned, but they have not been published by the Attorney General's Center for Legal Information.

According to him, the examination of witnesses is to strengthen the settlement of case files for 5 CPO suspects.

"Anyway, all CPO (witnesses) are (examined), what is still strengthening is this (case file)," said Supardi.

Supardi said it was possible for his party to carry out developments by targeting other suspects other than the 5 people who had been named as suspects.

However, at this time, his party is fully concentrated on quickly delegating the first phase of the CPO corruption case.

"If it's a development issue, we'll see it later, in the sense that this case is at least finished first," he said.

Regarding whether the information from the Minister of Trade Muhammad Lutfi is needed in the investigation of the case, Supardi said that he is still seeing the connection with the evidence.

"We will see the relevance later to the need for proof," said Supardi.

The last witness examination released by the Public Prosecution Service of the Attorney General's Office, Friday (20/5), was the Director of the President Director of PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya (Alfamart) with the initials AHP.

The AGO has named 5 suspects in a corruption case in granting export facilities for CPO and its derivative products, including cooking oil, which took place from January 2021 to March 2022.

The five suspects are Indrasari Wisnu Wardhana as the Director General of Foreign Trade (Dirjen Daglu) of the Ministry of Trade.

Then 4 other people from the private sector, namely Master Parulian Tumanggor as Commissioner of PT Wilmar Nabati Indonesia, Senior Manager of Corporate Affairs of PT Pelita Agung Agrindustri/Permata Hijau Group Stanley MA.

Next was Picare Tagore Sitanggang as General Manager at the General Affairs Section of PT Musim Mas and Founder and Policy/Analyst Advisor to PT Independent Research and Advisodry Indonesia Lin Che Wei.

As a result of the actions of the suspects, it resulted in state economic losses, namely the expensiveness and scarcity of cooking oil, resulting in a decrease in household consumption and small industries that use cooking oil and complicate people's lives.
