Reports Of Vice President Ma'ruf Amin's Insulting Revoked, Polri Continues To Investigate

JAKARTA - The National Police emphasized that they continue to investigate Sulaiman Marpaung for the case of insulting Vice President Ma'ruf Amin. The handling continued even though the GP Ansor Tanjungbalai, North Sumatra, withdrew the report.

Police Public Relations Division Karo Penmas, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono said the reason the case was still being processed was because the basis for the investigation was using a different police report (LP).

"Regarding the case, the investigators carried out an investigation based on the Bareskrim LP / B / 0561 / IX / 2020, here is the name of the reporter, Ruhmanjaya," Awi told reporters, Monday, October 19.

Meanwhile, according to Awi, the police had received a letter requesting the withdrawal of reporting by GP Ansor. Previously, this reporting was made to the Tanjungbalai Police.

Awi said, this case uses pure offense. Therefore, the case process of pairing Vice President Ma'ruf Amin's collage with Japanese porn actor Shigeo Tokuda or known as Sugiono's grandfather continued.

"So this is the case that article 28 paragraph 2 and article 45A paragraph 2 are a pure offense, not a complaint offense," he said.

"So colleagues need to know that there is indeed a revocation from the chairman of the GP Ansor, Tanjung Balai city, it has been accepted," he continued.

The police previously arrested Sulaiman Marpaung on Friday, October 2. Sulaiman is the owner of the Oliver Leaman S. Facebook account.

The arrests were made at the perpetrator's house on Jalan Lobe Daud LL VI, Sei Tualangrasi District, Tanjungbalai. The basis for the arrest was based on the Criminal Investigation Unit on September 30, 2020.

Sulaiman Marpaung was previously reported to the Tanjungbalai Police because he uploaded a photo collage of Vice President Ma'ruf Amin with 'Grandpa Sugiono'. The post on Oliver Leaman's Facebook account has now been deleted.
