Undeterred Sentenced To 10 Years 3 Months, Recidivists In Banda Aceh Again Rape A 9-Year-Old Child

BANDA ACEH - The Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of the Banda Aceh Police Satreskrim arrested another recidivist who raped a minor. The perpetrator turned out to have been imprisoned for the same case and was released in August 2021.

"The perpetrator with the initials NAS (56) was arrested by PPA unit personnel while working at a stall on Jalan AMD Banda Aceh," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit for the Banda Aceh Police, Kompol M Ryan Citra Yudha in Banda Aceh, as reported by Antara, Thursday, May 26.

When arrested there was no resistance from the NAS. The perpetrator also immediately confessed to his indecent act on a 9-year-old child.

In 2016, the perpetrator was arrested for the same case, namely sexual abuse of a minor. Based on the decision of the Jantho District Court, the perpetrator was sentenced to 10 years and 3 months.

"After serving his sentence and cutting his sentence or remission in August 2021, the perpetrator was released from the Banda Aceh Class II A Prison in Lambaro Aceh Besar," he said again.

However, Ryan also said, in early March 2022, the suspect NAS again committed the same act against a nine-year-old child in Banda Aceh City.

Ryan explained that this case began when the perpetrators of NAS met the victim who was cutting abal that was no longer used near the victim's house.

"Then the perpetrator offered to the victim to help him. Because the situation was quiet, the crime occurred," he said again.

Ryan added, for his actions, NAS was again a suspect in the crime of rape and sexual abuse of children as referred to in Article 50 in conjunction with Article 47 of Aceh Qanun Number 6 of 2014 concerning Jinayat Law.
