BPJS Health Says 17,189 Participants In Aceh Have Not Repaid Contributions

ACEH - The Health Social Security Administration (BPJS) noted that 17,189 participants in Aceh had not paid their dues (in arrears) until April 2022. The public is advised to pay them immediately through a gradual payment program.

"We urge the public to pay it off immediately, because if the arrears are not paid, the BPJS Health card will be inactive," said Assistant Deputy Directors for Planning, Contributions, and Finance for BPJS Kesehatan North Sumatra and Aceh Region Idris Halomoan, in Banda Aceh, Antara , Wednesday, May 25.

Idris said that the 17,189 people who were in arrears consisted of 6,891 first class participants, 4,593 second class participants and 5,705 third class participants.

"Participants who are in arrears are all over Aceh, both those registered at the Banda Aceh, Langsa, Lhokseumawe, Meulaboh and Tapaktuan branch offices," he said.

In order to make it easier for JKN-KIS participants to pay off arrears of contributions, currently BPJS Kesehatan presents a gradual payment plan (Rehab) program. The program is aimed at participants in the segment of non-wage workers (PBPU) and non-workers (BP) who are more than three months in arrears.

This program, continued Idris, is expected to encourage BPJS Health's efforts to maintain financial sustainability and ease the burden on JKN-KIS participants who have four to 24 months arrears, which can be paid in stages or in installments.

"The status of new participants will also be active when all arrears and the current month's dues have been paid off. This program is expected to facilitate and ease the burden on participants in paying off arrears of dues," he said.

Indris said, JKN-KIS participants can follow the installment mechanism in the Rehab program, through the JKN mobile application or BPJS Health Care Center 165. After that, a simulation of gradual bill payments appears according to the selection of the time period chosen by the participants.

"JKN-KIS participants can determine their own payment period with a minimum of two months and a maximum of half of the total months in arrears," said Idris.

To note, as of April 30, 2022, the number of participants in the JKN-KIS program in Aceh Province reached 5,318,108 people, or 99.44 percent of the total population of 5,347,889 people.
