MATARAM - Health protocols (prokes) will continue to be implemented during full face-to-face learning (PTM) in a number of schools in Mataram City. The full PTM in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) will take place starting Tuesday, May 24.

"Alhamdulillah, the children are still wearing masks in the classroom even though full PTM has been allowed," said Head of SDN 17 Mataram Fitriatun Aini in Mataram, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, May 25.

Apart from SDN 17 Mataram, a similar condition can also be seen in junior high schools and the equivalent.

According to Fitriatun, before and until the full PTM was implemented 100 percent, the implementation of the COVID-19 prokes in schools had never been slack.

Moreover, according to the direction of the Mataram City Education Office, he requested that the provision of COVID-19 prevention infrastructure in schools must be activated despite the full implementation of PTM.

"So, even though the full PTM has been implemented, all children's habits when entering the school environment are still carried out. For example, washing hands, measuring body temperature and using masks are included in the classroom," he said.

With the full implementation of PTM, Fitriatun said, students have started to study normally starting at 07.30 WITA until 12.30 WITA, to pursue curriculum targets.

"So far, for the full implementation of PTM, we don't have any problems because the children have been able to adapt to the pandemic situation," he said.

In addition, as many as 144 students at SDN 17 Mataram have received a second dose of COVID-19 vaccination, as well as for local teachers.

Fitriatun further assessed that the full PTM policy issued by the Mataram City Government was warmly welcomed by students, parents and teachers.

The reason is, full PTM is considered more effective and focused in delivering the teaching and learning process.

"If we study using an online system, we feel that it is not optimal. Moreover, if we ask parents to help because not all parents are ready to accompany their children to learn online," he said.

Meanwhile, Intan, one of the parents of students at SDN 1 Mataram, is very grateful for the full PTM policy which was started on Tuesday, May 24 yesterday.

"Kids now can focus more on learning. When online, they are mostly playing rather than studying," said this mother of three daughters.
