SUMSEL - The Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) ordered the South Sumatra (Sumsel) High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) to investigate a viral video of a prosecutor doing "saweran" on stage.

The viral video is known to have taken place at the Lahat District Attorney (Kejari), South Sumatra Province, during the farewell ceremony for the Head of Section for the Management of Evidence and Loot (P3BR).

"The South Sumatra High Prosecutor's Supervisory Team has been ordered to investigate the incident, we are waiting for the results," said the Head of the Attorney General's Office for Legal Information (Kapuspenkum) Ketut Sumedana when confirmed in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, May 25.

When contacted separately, the Head of the Intelligence Section (Kasi) at the Prosecutor's Office, Lahat Faisyal, denied that the "saweran" action was not money but torn pieces of paper.

He explained that the incident occurred on Monday, May 23 when the Kejari Lahat held a friendly introduction to the duties of the Head of P3BR at the Kejari Lahat Hall.

The video of the event circulated among the people of Lahat Regency and became a polemic because it appeared in the video that one of the Prosecutor's Office employees was seen throwing or scattering something on the stage, such as "saweran".

"I as the Head of Intel stated that what was thrown or scattered on the stage was torn paper (not money)," said Faisyal.

For this incident, Faisyal appealed to the public to choose and sort out any information circulating.

"Because the information circulating is not necessarily true," he said.
