BATAM - Class I Immigration Office specifically for Immigration Checkpoints (TPI) Batam, Riau Islands, during January to April 2022 refused 15 foreign nationals (WNA) to enter Batam for various reasons.

"There are 15 foreign nationals from Malaysia and Singapore who were denied entry permits to Batam from the beginning of the year until April 2022," said Head of the Immigration Office Class I Special for TPI Batam, Subki Miuldi in Batam, Wednesday, May 25.

He explained that there are several criteria that foreigners are not allowed to enter Indonesia. "For those who are not allowed to enter, they are usually on the arrest list, passports are not valid, have infectious diseases, and so on. Moreover, yesterday was still a pandemic, so some were not allowed to enter because they were positive for COVID-19," he said.

As the agency that guards the entrance of foreigners, Subki emphasized that his party highly selects foreigners who will enter the territory of Indonesia, for example using the application system owned by Immigration because with this application it is known the number of foreigners in a company, where they live, what activities, types of activities. gender, and nationality.

"Don't let people who harm the country enter here (Batam)," he said, quoted by Antara.

Likewise Indonesian citizens who are refused entry and exit from the country, such as Malaysia and Singapore, he said, Immigration knows because they coordinate with each other.

“We know, because we were given information about Singapore Immigration. We know that those who are repatriated are usually notified by the Immigration there (Singapore) to us. If the data is there with them," he explained.
