JAKARTA - Garut Police together with the Department of Transportation checked the condition of the feasibility of tourism buses to anticipate accidents, which are often caused by poor vehicle conditions.

The joint team inspected a number of bus company locations to directly check the vehicle's important functions, including its administration, such as operational permits.

Bus inspection results, he said, the average bus in Garut comes from outside the city. However, it is still checked and reminded the company to comply with the regulations that have been set by the government.

"Although the vehicle number is from outside Garut, we are trying to explain to the bus entrepreneur," he said.

He conveyed the aim of checking the condition of vehicle eligibility and permits to prevent accidents, one of which was caused by vehicles that were not fit to operate carrying passengers

"At least we anticipate that there will be things that are not desirable, at least the problem of traffic accidents," he said.

He added that the bus company in Garut welcomes the examination of the feasibility of the bus, including buses whose police license plates from outside the region will be transferred to Garut and taxes will be finalized soon.

Regarding the condition of the bus's feasibility, he said, the results of the Garut Transportation Department officer's inspection were several that had to be completed, one of which was the completeness of the equipment needed by passengers when an accident occurred.

"There are some that are not equipped, in particular there are vehicles that are not equipped with accident equipment in the vehicle," he said.
