Bareskrim Arrest Defrauding Chief Of KSP Moeldoko

JAKARTA - The Directorate of Cyber Crime, Bareskrim Polri arrested a person with the initials MFB (43). MFB is the perpetrator of insulting the Head of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) Moeldoko via Facebook.

The Director of Cyber Crime at Bareskrim Polri Brigadier General Pol Slamet Uliandi confirmed the arrest of MFB which was carried out in the North Jakarta area, Sunday at around 05.10 WIB.

"Yes, we have arrested the perpetrator this morning," said Slamet as quoted by Antara , Sunday, October 18.

The arrests were made at a boarding house on Jalan H Murtado, Tugu Utara, Koja, North Jakarta. The basis for the arrest was a police report number LP / A / 590 / X / 2020 / BARESKRIM, dated 17 October 2020.

In the report, it is suspected that hate speech related to SARA was committed in accordance with Article 28 paragraph 2 of the ITE Law, and or insults in accordance with Article 207 of the Criminal Code.

MFB, known as a native of Padang, West Sumatra, is the owner of Muhammad Basmi's Facebook account.

“The perpetrator's mode is posting on Muhammad Basmi's Facebook account. The motive is because they have thoughts of wanting to improve the Indonesian nation and pouring their ideas into social media, ”said this one-star general.

Apart from arresting the perpetrators, Bareskrim also confiscated a mobile phone unit along with a SIM card and a Facebook account.

"The suspect has been brought to Bareskrim with evidence for further examination," said Slamet.
