Riau Health Office Anticipates Transmission Of Acute Hepatitis

PEKANBARU - Riau Provincial Health Office anticipates the possibility of mysterious acute hepatitis transmission, especially by reminding the public to increase the application of a clean and healthy lifestyle in their daily life.

"Alhamdulillah, to this day no mysterious hepatitis has been found in Riau," said Head of the Riau Health Service, Zainal Arifin, in Pekanbaru, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, May 24.

Until now, he said, no cases of mysterious acute hepatitis had been found in the local area, as happened in DKI Jakarta, East Java and West Sumatra, each of which had one case, based on data from the Ministry of Health.

Previously, his party had suspected that there were several cases of mysterious acute hepatitis in Riau. However, after examination, it turned out to be normal hepatitis.

He said that ordinary hepatitis had existed in the local area for a long time, while the detection that the case found in Riau recently was not the mysterious hepatitis that the public was concerned about at this time.

"The previously suspected mysterious hepatitis case was found in Pekanbaru and several other districts. However, we are still monitoring to anticipate the development of this case," he said. Because, he said, when a suspected case is found, the hospital team will conduct laboratory tests.

For handling samples of cases suspected of mysterious acute hepatitis, his party carried out tests at the Arifin Achmad Riau Regional General Hospital (RSUD) laboratory.

"Because the hepatitis examination can still be done at the Arifin Achmad Hospital, Riau," he said.
