JAKARTA - Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko conveyed that public aspirations regarding the Job Creation Law are still open to be accommodated through a Government Regulation or Presidential Regulation.

"It is still open (to be accommodated). There will be at least 35 Government Regulations and five Presidential Regulations prepared as a follow-up to the Job Creation Law," said Moeldoko as quoted by Antara , Saturday, October 17.

He said the government, through the Minister of Manpower, still provides opportunities and access to fellow workers and laborers to participate in thinking about how they respond to the contents of the Job Creation Law.

He emphasized that the Job Creation Law is a means of uplifting the nation's dignity in global competition. The existence of Indonesia as an advanced nation must be shown to the world.

"Our workforce, laborers, farmers, fishermen cannot lose in the competition. The enactment of this law will mark the end of the happy dry season," he explained.

He further explained that throughout Southeast Asia, there is currently a wind of change. So that all parties must agree to make the Indonesian nation a more perfect association.

"We must become a nation that can anticipate the development of a very dynamic environment," he explained.

Moreover, he said, from the logistics side, Indonesia is still the Asian country with the most expensive logistics costs, where the figure reaches 24 percent of the gross domestic product (GDP).

This makes Indonesia less competitive than other Asian countries.

"For example, Vietnam with 20 percent logistics costs, Thailand 15 percent, Malaysia 13 percent, Japan and Singapore only eight percent logistics costs," he said.

According to him, the efficiency in the Job Creation Law will reduce the high cost economy. So that is why many long licenses have been cut, thus closing opportunities for corruption.

"As a result, the Job Creation Law made many parties 'hot seats' because they lost opportunities," he said.

As for the demonstrations that were carried out by a number of elements related to the Job Creation Law, Meoldoko emphasized that the government did not prohibit the delivery of aspirations or opinions.

However, he emphasized that if the delivery has led to destruction, anarchy, or spreading slander, then this will disturb the rights of others, disturb the sense of security of the public, and also destroy the harmony of the nation.

"This needs to be put in order," he said.

He also emphasized that the Job Creation Law had been discussed in the DPR, and the people's representatives had already passed it.

"In my opinion, let 1,000 new shoots bloom. Let 1000 thoughts emerge. But don't destroy the stalks. That means, everyone may have an opinion but not to damage the main goal," he explained.
