Police Ask Immigration To Block 2 Suspected Cooking Oil Exporters With Evidence Of 8 Containers In Surabaya

SURABAYA - Two suspects R and E, in the case of exporters of cooking oil in Surabaya, have not been arrested by the Surabaya Tanjung Perak Port Police.

To prevent the suspect from escaping, the police sent a letter to the East Java Ministry of Law and Human Rights to block the perpetrator from going abroad.

"The letter is for prevention abroad to perpetrators E and R", said Tanjung Perak Port Police Chief AKBP, Anton Elfrino Trisanto, in a written statement, Monday, May 23.

Not without reason, the police asked for the ban on suspects R and E, because both of them have not been arrested so far. However, Anton did not explain the reasons for the arrest of the suspect.

"We will then schedule the examination of the witness with the initials L who acts as an exporter", he said.

In addition to securing the two people, the police also confiscated eight containers containing cooking oil that was planned to be sent to Dili, Timor Leste, totaling around 121,985 tons. Apart from R and E, the police have also examined seven witnesses regarding the case.

As a result of their actions, suspects R and E were charged with Article 112 Jo Article 51 of Law Number 7 of 2014 concerning Trade Jo Minister of Trade Regulation Number 22 of 2022 concerning the temporary export ban on Crude Palm Oil, Refined, Blenched, and Deodorized Palm oil.

Both have their respective roles, namely the owner of tens of tons of exported cooking oil that they buy from somewhere, managing export documents, and manipulating the Export Declaration of Goods (PEB) documents.
