JAKARTA - Secretary General of the National Mandate Party (Sekjen PAN) Eddy Soeparno said Ade Armando was twisting the facts or playing a victim by pretending to position himself as a victim.

The statement was in response to Ade Armando's request that was conveyed through his attorney, Muannas Alaidid, to delete his tweet which was considered to accuse the social media activist of being a religious blasphemer.

"In my opinion, Ade Armando should not play the victim, that his current condition is the result of other people's statements or attitudes, no," said Eddy Soeparno to reporters, Monday, May 23.

Eddy Soeparno also responded to Ade Armando who said his tweet was considered dangerous because it led to public opinion if his figure was a blasphemer of religion.

According to him, in his tweet there was no use of the word blasphemy which refers directly to a person or perpetrator. So, do not accuse anyone of being a blasphemer.

"I use blasphemous words, yes, blaspheme religion and scholars. So I never use blasphemous words," said Eddy Soeparno

In addition, he emphasized, his tweet was only limited to asking for a legal process, both against the perpetrators of beating Ade Armando and blasphemy.

"In essence, my tweet, the concept, is asking for law enforcement for those who commit acts of persecution against someone, then I also ask for law enforcement to be carried out against those who blaspheme religion," said Eddy Soeparno.

As previously reported, Ade Armando through his legal representative sent a subpoena to Eddy Soeparno. The subpoena was related to Eddy's tweet about the blasphemy case.

Meanwhile, the content of Eddy's tweet that became a problem, namely;

"I support the investigation and legal action against perpetrators of violence against AA, but I also support firm legal action against those who insult religion and scholars, including AA," wrote Eddy Soeparno.
