Investigating Alleged Corruption, KPK Will Ask PT Telkom Directors For Information If Needed

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) opens the opportunity to summon the board of directors of PT Telkom or its subsidiaries to support the investigation of suspected corruption cases. This investigation surfaced after the KPK asked for information from the former President Director of PT Pramindo Ikat Nusantara (PINS), Slamet Riyadi on Thursday, October 1.

PINS is a subsidiary of PT Telkom which is engaged in providing Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) and its maintenance.

In the process of this investigation, Acting KPK spokesman Ali Fikri said the KPK would summon a number of parties suspected of knowing about a criminal act for questioning. Including Telkom's board of directors if needed.

"Whoever then according to the investigators is the one suspected of knowing about the incident. Then they will be summoned later," Ali told reporters at the KPK's Red and White House, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, October 16.

However, Ali did not explain the details of Telkom's directors or other parties who would be questioned and asked the public to be patient considering the process is still in the investigation stage.

"That will be according to existing needs. Later, please be patient," he said.

Some time ago, Ali also confirmed that the request for information against Slamet Riyadi was part of the investigation process. He did not deny that anti-graft agency investigators were investigating allegations of corruption within Telkom.

"It is true, there is a request for information concerned (Slamet Riyadi) related to the investigation by the KPK," he said, reluctant to reveal further about the investigation process. It is said, the investigation process is still ongoing.

Meanwhile, after being questioned by the KPK investigating team, Slamet admitted that the KPK was first questioned. "This is the first time I don't know," he said.
