Update On COVID-19 As Of October 16: Positive Cases 4,301 And Healed 3,883

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 41,541 specimens were examined, found 4,301 new positive cases.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 353,461 people," quoted from data from the Ministry of Health, Friday, October 16.

Meanwhile, the number of recovered cases increased by 3,883, so the total was 277,544 people who recovered from COVID-19. Meanwhile, the number of deaths increased by 79 to 12,347 people.

Then, for the provinces with the most number of positive cases in DKI Jakarta. Based on data, 1,045 people in the capital have tested positive for COVID-19. So that the total residents who have been infected have become 92,382 people.

Other provinces with a high number of additional positive cases include Central Java and West Java. Respectively, there were an additional 443 and 424 cases.

On the other hand, the province with the most recovered cases is also occupied by DKI Jakarta with 982 cases. Then, Central Java with 396 cases and West Java with 387 cases.

So far, 9 provinces have reported additional cases under 10. Among them, Maluku, Bengkulu, East Nusa Tenggara, and Gorontalo. Then, there are 2 provinces without positive cases, namely, Central Sulawesi and Papua.

In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 3,976,653. In detail, as many as 3,903,226 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 73,427 specimens using molecular rapid tests (TCM).

"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined (positivity rate) was 14.3 percent," he wrote.

Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 157,672 people. Currently, 500 districts / cities out of 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
