Police Reveal The Boarding House To Be Used To Store Stolen Motorcycles In Garut

GARUT - Police have revealed that the boarding house has been used as a storage place for stolen motorbikes in Jayaraga Village, Tarogong Kidul District, Garut Regency, West Java. There are five stolen vehicles that are stored in the boarding house.

"We carried out raids and searches. At the boarding house we secured Sister IN along with five motorbikes," said Tarogong Kidul Sector Police Chief Kompol Alit Kadarusman as quoted by Antara, Friday, May 20.

The police received information from the public that there was a boarding house suspected of being used as a storage area for stolen motorbikes.

Furthermore, he said, a number of personnel conducted raids at the boarding house, Wednesday (18/5) night, and found a female occupant and five motorbikes suspected of being stolen.

"We secured it and immediately took it to the Tarogong Kidul Sector Police, then from the results of the information that he (IN) knew the motorbike was at this location, Brother AF brought it," he said.

The police immediately moved to find the perpetrators of AF and arrested him. From there, the police then arrested other suspects for a total of 5 suspects.

All the perpetrators who were arrested, said the Sector Police Chief, were the initials A (24), YD (25), FM (20), AF (18), and EW (31). Police are also still chasing a trafficker who is currently on the wanted list.

The police chief said that one of the perpetrators, namely A, was a recidivist of the same case who often operated with his gang in the Garut City area and its surroundings.

"One person is a recidivist, the other is still a DPO receiver. For evidence, we have secured six units of motorized vehicles and equipment for breaking motorcycle keys," he said.

All of the suspects then languished in the detention cell of the Tarogong Kidul Police Headquarters to undergo further legal processes and they were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 65 of the Criminal Code regarding theft with a weight, with a threat of 7 years in prison.
