Term Of Office Of 4 Regional Heads In Maluku Ends This Month, Governor Ensures That They Will Be Filled Soon

AMBON - The term of office of four regents or mayors in Maluku Province ends on May 22, 2022. The Governor of Maluku, Murad Ismail, has ensured that there will be no vacancies.

"I assure you that there will be no leadership vacancies. The inauguration of the Acting Regents and Mayors will be on May 22, 2022," said Maluku Governor Murad Ismail in Ambon, Friday, May 20.

The four regional heads in Maluku whose terms of office expire on May 22 2022 are the Mayor and Deputy Mayor Richard Louhenapessy-Syarief Hadler, the Regent and Deputy Regent of Buru Ramly Umasugi-Amustafa Besan.

Furthermore, the Regent and Deputy Regent of the Tanimbar Islands Petrus Fatlolon-Agustinus Utuwaly, and the Regent of West Seram (SBB) Timothius Akerina.

Although he did not mention the names of the acting regents and mayors who would be sworn in, Murad ensured that all preparations for the inauguration were underway.

"Anyway, on Sunday I will inaugurate four acting mayors and regents so that there will be no government vacuum," he said.

Murad does not want to have a polemic around the proposal and the appointment of the four officials. However, he admitted that the nomination of the names of the candidates for office to the Minister of Home Affairs was behind schedule.

"So, whoever is appointed to be acting in the four regions is the best son of the nation and they are ready to be sworn in on Sunday," he said.

Information obtained by Antara stated that the four officials, namely the Regional Secretary of Buru Regency, Illyas Hamid, as the Acting Regent of Buru, and the Expert Staff of the Governor, Umar Alhabsi, became the Acting Regent of SBB.

The acting Secretary of the Regional Secretary for the Tanimbar Islands, Benharvioto Moriolkosu, will become the Acting Regent of the Tanimbar Islands and Brigadier General Amino Setia Budi (Head of BIN Riau Region) as the Acting Mayor of Ambon.
