Head of Kendari Customs, Purwatmo Hadi Waluja, said the woman who was arrested by his party with the BNN Sultra initials HAR (26) after receiving a marijuana package sent from Bone Regency, South Sulawesi.

"We together with BNN Sultra arrested HAR in the Anaiwoi Village area, Kadia District, Kendari City on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at around 09.30 WITA to 11.30 WITA," said Purwatmo, quoted from Antara, Friday, May 20.

He explained that the woman's arrest began with information provided by the Sibolga Customs Office for the North Sumatra Customs and Excise Office on Saturday (14/5), that there was one package sent by a domestic expedition from Wajo, South Sulawesi to Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi.

"Where the package is suspected of containing marijuana type narcotics which was notified as a band stick," he said.

After receiving this information, his party through the Kendari Customs Supervision Unit immediately followed up by coordinating with the shipping company to monitor the movement of the package.

He continued, on Wednesday (18/5), Kendari Customs received information that the package had arrived at the warehouse of the shipping company in Kendari.

The Kendari Customs and Excise team then moved to the shipping company's warehouse to identify the package.

"From the results of the identification of the package, it was found that it was true that the package contained 12 grams of marijuana," he said.

The Kendari Customs and Excise Team then coordinated with the Southeast Sulawesi BNN in order to take action.

On Thursday, he continued, the package was delivered to the address listed on the delivery receipt, namely to HAR which is located at Anaiwoi Village, Kadia District, Kendari.

"Around 09.30 local time the package was received by the owner of the goods concerned and an arrest was made immediately," said Purwatmo.

The woman and the evidence were immediately secured to the Southeast Sulawesi BNN Office for further examination.
