Ministry Of Health Pays Claims For Handling COVID-19 At The Hospital For IDR 7.1 Trillion

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health has paid claims to hospitals that handle COVID-19 amounting to IDR7.1 trillion from the total budget prepared by the government of IDR21 trillion.

Acting Director General of Health Services of the Ministry of Health Abdul Kadir explained that the claims that had been distributed came from the Ministry of Health's Budget Implementation List (DIPA) amounting to IDR 6.2 trillion and from the Ready-to-Use Fund (DP) of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) of IDR 950 billion.

Meanwhile, claims that have been submitted by around 1,900 hospitals as of October 15, 2020, have totaled Rp. 12 trillion.

"It means that there are still Rp4 trillion left in the verification process, and this certainly takes our time to process the verification," said Kadir as quoted by Antara , Friday, October 16.

Based on data, according to Kadir, the government pays claims of around Rp150 billion to Rp180 billion per day for handling COVID-19 in hospitals. Or the government will pay more than IDR 3 trillion to hospitals that provide services for COVID-19 patients for one month.

Kadir admits that in the early stages of claim payment, the requirements for paying claims are stricter with 10 dispute clusters or those deemed to have problems with the completeness of the verification documents so that claim payments cannot be made.

However, now the Minister of Health has revised the Minister of Health Regulation by simplifying it to only four dispute clusters.

Another obstacle, Kadir said, of all hospitals that submitted claims, not all of them collaborated with BPJS Health so they were not familiar with the electronic claim submission process in the National Health Insurance Program-Indonesian Health Card (JKN-KIS) system.

Therefore the government provides guidance and guidance for hospitals that have not partnered with BPJS Kesehatan so that they can still submit complete documents for the claim process for health service payments for handling COVID-19.
