Update On COVID-19 As Of October 15: Recover Case Record Increases 5,810 People

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 42,208 specimens were examined with the results of 4,411 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 349,160 people," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Thursday, October 15.

Cases recovered today reached a new record, with an increase of 5,810 so that a total of 273,661 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 112 people and a total of 12,268 people.

The province with the most new cases is in DKI Jakarta with 1,071 new cases and a total of 91,337 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.

Followed by West Java which has 590 new cases with a total of 29,119 cases. Central Java has 472 new cases and a total of 27,864 cases. West Sumatra has 363 new cases and a total of 9,766 cases. Then, East Java has 267 new cases and a total of 48,161 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to Central Java with an increase of 2,223 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1,050 cases recovered, East Java with an additional 304 cases recovered, and West Java with an increase of 304 cases recovered.

Then, there is 1 province that reported no new cases today. The province is North Kalimantan.

In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 3,935,112. In detail, as many as 3,863,527 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 71,585 using molecular rapid tests (TCM).

"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined (positivity rate) was 14.3 percent," he wrote.

Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 154,926 people. Currently, 500 districts / cities out of 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
