BEKASI - The illegal waste disposal site (TPS) in Kobak Rante Village, Karang Reja Village, Pebayuran District, Bekasi Regency, West Java will soon be permanently closed by the local government.

Pebayuran Sub-district Head Hanief Zulkifli said the local government would close permanently after conducting socialization, warnings to managers, and submitting a closure to the Satpol PP apparatus and the Bekasi Regency Environmental Service.

"Yes, that's right, we will permanently close it. We have socialized it to the manager and a police line has been installed, no more activity is allowed. We will immediately close it together with elements of regional leadership, Satpol PP and the LH Service," said Haief in Bekasi quoted from Antara, Tuesday. , May 17.

He admitted that he had often warned TPS managers who were residents around the location. In fact, he claims to have closed at the end of 2021.

"In principle, we have given warnings several times. Even in October 2021 we have also closed. It continues to be stubborn and until now it is open again. So not only today we respond. When we are careless, he opens again. We don't let him," he said. .

Hanief explained that the waste transported by the manager is a type of household waste originating from residential areas outside the Pebayuran District area. After operating for more than five years, garbage has filled the 9,000 square meter land.

"This land belongs to the manager, not TKD (Village Cash Land). It is 9,000 meters wide and has been covered with garbage. The residents there are also the managers. So he opened a business there, the garbage comes from outside," he said.

He also confirmed that the existence of the TPS had resulted in environmental pollution so that it had a bad impact on the health and economy of the local residents.

"However, the manager has violated the rules because the garbage should be thrown into the landfill, this is dumped on his own land. This causes pollution and has a bad impact on the community. Rice fields have failed to harvest," he said.
