COVID-19 Update As Of May 15: 257 New Cases From Examination Of 100,901 Specimens

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 100,901 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 257 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,050,776 people and active cases have fallen by 41 to 4,784 cases," according to data from the Ministry of Health, Sunday, May 15.

Today's recovered cases increased by 293 people, bringing the total to 5,889,534 people recovered. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 5 cases and totaled 156,448 people.

The province with the most new cases is DKI Jakarta with 93 cases and a total of 1,249,109 cases. Followed by West Java which has 40 new cases with a total of 1,106,028 cases. East Java has 32 new cases and a total of 575,899 cases. Banten has 23 new cases and a total of 292,762 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Java with an additional 145 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an additional 78 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 18 recovered cases, and Banten with an additional 8 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 97,346,292.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 0.34 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 2,386 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

Furthermore, currently there are 199,604,439 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 166.353,348 the second dose of vaccination. Then, the third dose of vaccination was 42,666,345. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
