200 SMEs Will Enliven The Sumbawa MXGP Event

JAKARTA - The Province of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) is getting ready to welcome the Motocross Grand Prix (MXGP) on June 24-26 2022. Head of the NTB Cooperatives and SMEs Service Ahmad Masyhuri said that 80 percent of the 200 SMEs that will be involved in the Samota MXGP event are in the culinary sector, and the remaining 20 percent are in the handicraft sector such as souvenirs and clothing. "We will prepare 200 tents later. We don't know yet how many SMEs can fit one tent and what price is offered, because all of them are handed over to third parties," he said, quoted by Antara, Sunday, May 15.

He explained that of the 200 SMEs, the largest was allocated to SMEs in Sumbawa Regency and four other regencies and cities on Sumbawa Island.

"For SMEs from Lombok Island it is 15 percent. So, not much," he explained.

Masyhuri said that all these SMEs will be placed in the circuit area. However, the location for the SMEs to sell has not been finalized with the committee.

"Because apart from being in the circuit area, there will also be a camping ground location. We don't know for sure what it's like," said Masyhuri.

Compared to MotoGP at the Mandalika Circuit, the rental fee that will be charged per SME is much cheaper at around IDR 5 million.

"In MotoGP it is Rp. 60 million, in MXGP, the rental fee is around Rp. 5 million," he said.

The former Head of the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Secretariat's Welfare Bureau is optimistic that with the MXGP Samota event, the SME and MSME sectors in NTB will continue to grow. Especially with the many upcoming activities that will be held in NTB.

"We must be optimistic and not be pessimistic, that our SMEs and SMEs will be successful," he said.
