Bangkalan Ulama Leader KH Fahrillah Passes Away

BANGKALAN - KH Fahrillah bin Abdullah Schal, a prominent cleric from Bangkalan Regency on Madura Island, East Java, has died at Siloam Hospital, Surabaya, due to heart disease.

"As a family, we ask for prayers for the late Husnul Khotimah," said a member of Commission VIII DPR who was also a relative of the late Hasani Zubair, quoted by Antara, Saturday, May 14.

KH Fahrillah is the fourth generation of Bangkalan cleric Staikhona Kholil bin Abd Latif and is the caretaker of the Syaichona Moh Kholil Islamic Boarding School Bangkalan.

The deceased was also the Chairman of the Fakhers Mania Shalawat Jamaat, and the originator of Bangkalan as the City of Remembrance and Prayer.

The body of the deceased was interred in the family cemetery in Pesarean Syaikhona Kholil in Martajesah Village, Bangkalan City District.

Thousands of people from among the students of Islamic boarding schools, relatives and friends escorted the bodies of the deceased.

A number of officials were seen at the funeral home at the Syaichona Moh Kholil Islamic Boarding School, Demangan Village, Bangkalan and also prayed for the deceased's body.

These include Bangkalan Regent Abdul Latif Amin Imron, Bangkalan DPRD chairman Muhammad Fahad, Police Chief AKBP Alith Alarino, Bangkalan Dandim 0829 Lt. Col. Inf Syarifudin Liwang, Deputy Regent Moh Mohni, and two members of the Indonesian House of Representatives, namely Imron Amin and Syafiuddin Asmoro, as well as dozens of local clerics. .

"Ra Fahri is a role model, simple and an example for all of us. Hopefully he will get a proper place in the sight of Allah SWT," said Bangkalan Regent Abdul Latif Amin Imron.
