Cirebon Regency Government Map Drought-Prone Areas

CIREBON - The Cirebon Regency Government, West Java, has mapped areas prone to drought during the dry season so that they can be handled easily.

"We have mapped areas that are prone to drought," said Cirebon Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Chief Executive Alex Suheriyawan in Cirebon, as reported by Antara, Friday, May 13.

Alex said the dry season has become one of the BPBD's concerns in handling disasters, because there are several areas in Cirebon Regency that are regulars with drought.

For this reason, he said, his party continues to prepare for handling and coordinate with relevant agencies.

According to him, during a long dry season, there are several areas that experience a clean water crisis. These areas are on the coast.

"We are also preparing water resources to be distributed to those in need," he said. Alex added, in addition to mapping drought-prone areas, human resources or human resources also need to be prepared for the dry season.

According to him, currently in Cirebon Regency it is still often raining and even a few days ago there was flooding.

"Currently the drought emergency alert has not been issued, because it is still raining," he said.
