Police Call The Ambulance Shot In Menteng Indicated Of Supplying Rocks To The Rioting Mass

JAKARTA - Police say the ambulance shot in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta, was suspected of supplying stones to rioters during the rioting, Tuesday, October 13. This allegation emerged based on the results of the police investigation.

"He (N) said that the ambulance was not for health but to send logistics and stone indications to the demonstrators," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus to reporters, Wednesday, October 14.

But, said Yusri, when the ambulance was secured with three other people at Taman Ismail Marzuki, no stones or objects were found in the car.

"When we found it, because it was night it was already empty," he said.

"This is a statement that we are still examining later. Please wait for the results," he added.

However, Yusri did not want to speculate when asked about the origin of the ambulance from a community organization (Ormas). He only said that the origin of this problem was due to the officers' suspicion of their actions.

"That's why we are still investigating it because we just secured it. If it is not proven why should we run away," he said.

Previously it was reported that in this case, 4 people had been arrested. However, they have not been named as suspects.

This case started when the officers became suspicious. This is because when the ambulance was stopped, the ambulance stepped on the gas and almost hit the officers.

"We know there are 4 people in the ambulance and tried to escape by backing off and almost running into officers," he said.

"This made the officers suspicious, why the two series (motorbikes and other ambulances) had not previously run away and this one fled," he continued.
