Polda Checks Viral Video Police Chase Ambulance To Shot Of Tear Gas In Menteng

JAKARTA - The video of police chasing an ambulance shooting tear gas allegedly in Menteng, Central Jakarta, went viral on social media. This location is close to the Tugu Tani which was in chaos after the police beat the crowd from the Horse Statue area.

From the video circulating, it appears that a number of personnel are chasing an ambulance. The sound of tear gas shooting was clear.

The ambulance being chased had walked backwards. After that, this car drove even though it was blocked by the police. The doors on the right and left of the ambulance were visible.

The police in front of the ambulance fired tear gas. The ambulance immediately stepped on the gas. It is not certain when the ambulance chase took place.

"We'll check first. We can't confirm the information yet. We'll check with the police first (because) there is no report yet," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Yusri Yunus, confirmed by VOI , Tuesday, October 13.

Previous riots occurred in the Horse Statue area, Tuesday, October 13. The masses of most of these teenagers were beaten back and scattered towards Tanah Abang and Kebon Sirih.

The chaos then continued to the Tugu Tani. Police dispersed the crowd who burned tires in the middle of the road with tear gas shots.

Regarding the riots in Jakarta today, Polda Metro Jaya arrested 500 rioters during a demonstration against the Work Creation Law in Jakarta. Hundreds of people who were arrested from several places were suspected of being anarcho groups.

"Until now, about 500 people we have arrested include anarchos in the area," said Metro Jaya Police Chief, Inspector General Nana Sudjana, to reporters, Tuesday, October 13.
