Anies Tours Europe In His Last Year In Office, PDIP: What's On The Agenda? It's Just A Walk

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan toured three European countries, namely London (England), Berlin (Germany), and Paris (France) for eight days since Tuesday, May 10 last night.

Anies went to Europe to follow up on transportation cooperation, including financing for the MRT. Then, fulfill the invitation from the community there related to mobility and transportation. Then, discuss about Sister City, Smart City, and so on.

Seeing this, Gembong Warsono, chairman of the PDIP faction of the DPRD DKI, considered that Anies' agenda to Europe was not really for work. Rather, it's like traveling under the guise of a work visit.

"We don't know what the agenda is. When it comes to the Sister City country, what is the agenda? If there is no agenda brought from Jakarta, it means that the conclusion is that we just take a walk," said Gembong when contacted, Wednesday, May 11. Regarding the MRT in Europe, Gembong admitted that he was surprised. He feels that there is no longer a need for a collaborative program because the operation of the MRT phase 1 and the construction of the MRT phase 2 are already underway.

"When it comes to MRT, I don't think there is anything urgent that must be discussed for a new collaboration. Then, we don't know the next agenda. Because we don't know about other agendas except MRT," said Gembong.

After all, Anies' term as Governor of DKI will end in five months. So, it is difficult to plan a program that can be taken from his visit to Europe. "So, my conclusion is at the end of my term of office, just go for a walk, to refresh," he added.
