JAKARTA - Moda Raya Terpadu (MRT) Jakarta stops seven MRT stations starting from Bundaran HI Station to ASEAN Station. This decision was taken in connection with today's demonstration.

"PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) closed 6 underground stations and 1 elevated station starting at 13.00 WIB," said PT MRT Jakarta Corporate Secretary Division Head Muhamad Kamaluddin in a written statement, Tuesday, October 13.

The closure of seven MRT stations is carried out in order to provide safety, security, and comfort for every community using MRT Jakarta services.

That way, the MRT Train only serves six elevated stations, namely Lebak Bulus Grab Station, Fatmawati, Cipete Raya, Haji Nawi, Blok A, and Blok M BCA Station.

"The departure schedule and waiting time at stations that are still operating are still according to the normal schedule at the station," said Kamaluddin.

For MRT Jakarta users who will travel from ASEAN Station to the HI Roundabout, Kamaluddin appealed to use other modes that are still operating.

"PT MRT Jakarta urges all people to be vigilant and always on their way to be careful. The safety and security of MRT Jakarta service users is a top priority for the management of PT MRT Jakarta," he said.

Apart from closing MRT stations, Transjakarta has also stopped all bus stops today. Operations Director of PT Jakarta Transportation, Prasetia Budi, said that the termination of all services was carried out to prevent potential damage to bus stops by unscrupulous people who were in the demonstration.

"The closure of Transjakarta services today is taken as an anticipation to safeguard public facilities so that they do not become targets of irresponsible rallies," said Prasetia.

In addition, the interruption of Transjakarta services is also intended so that all customers and our officers who are around the location of the action are gated.

"Transjakarta is collaborating with the Jaya Metro Police to ensure security and get the latest updates and information at the scene of the incident," he said.

Prasetia said that Transjakarta services will return to normal operations, when conditions allow for the bus fleet to pass.
