After Lebaran, Task Force Ensures No Spike In COVID-19 In Riau Islands

KEPRI - The Riau Islands Province COVID-19 Handling Task Force (Kepri) ensured that there was no spike in cases of the corona virus as a result of the long Eid 1443 holiday or Eid 2022.

“The case has now started to slope. Although there are still active cases, more have recovered," said Riau Islands COVID-19 Task Force Daily Chair Adi Prihantara in Tanjungpinang, quoted from Antara, Tuesday 10 May.

The Riau Islands Provincial Secretary said that currently there are 11 active cases of COVID-19 in Riau Islands, spread over four districts/cities, namely Tanjungpinang City five people, Karimun Regency three people, Bintan Regency two people, and Batam City one person.

Adi appealed to the entire community to continue implementing health protocols, especially wearing masks when doing activities outside the home.

In addition, he also asked people who have not received a triple dose or booster vaccination to immediately vaccinate so that their immune system will increase against exposure to COVID-19.

“Although the booster vaccination is not mandatory, the public is expected to be willing to implement it. It's for the good of all of us," he said.

He also conveyed the achievement of vaccination in Riau Islands until May 8, 2022 for the first dose of 1,755,166 people or 97.36 percent, the second dose of 1,505,874 people or 83.53 percent, and the third dose of 561,046 people or 40.85 percent.
